Brooklands Museum & Merc World - 25 May 2019 Mar 20, 2019 18:19:37 GMT

Following a massive investment, courtesy of the UK Lottery, Brooklands Museum has been re-vitalised and the results are very impressive, especially the additional aircraft stuff. As was flagged-up in the 2019 Event Schedule it’s about time any interested MX5Drivers paid it a visit to check-out how the money has been spent. Adult entrance fee is £14.50 or £13.50 for 60+ old gits. I suggest we meet at Cobham Services on the M25 at 10.00 for a 10.30 departure (see below for a slight change). From there it’s just a short run to Brooklands.
The proposed date is Saturday 25 May and once we’ve done Brooklands there is always the opportunity to visit Merc World next door, before a short run to a lunch venue if people fancy it; either The Black Swan, Ockham, or Inn on the Lake, Silvermere.
Who’s up for coming over to my part of the motoring and aviation world?
As Boycie has pointed out, this date is now a BOSS Cars Variety Show at Brooklands so there will be a load of nice shiny metal to dribble over…
With this in mind, I've brought the meet and departure times at Cobham services forward by 30mins; meet at 09.30 for a 10.00ish departure. The gates at Brooklands open at 10.00 so hopefully the initial surge should be over by the time we get there, but be warned; there may be queuing involved. No idea what sort of numbers are involved at this kind of event. I have been in touch with Brooklands and we need to park in The Heights and can then pay and enter the Museum as normal. Tickets can be booked up-front, it's up to. There will be no organised lunch arrangements so it's BYO or graze at one of the on-site food outlets. This is the route we will be taking from Cobham Services (follow the Yellow “P” road signs when close to Brooklands)…
