This is something I've lived with (and nearly not lived much longer by) for decades either going about my work-business or days out. Soon, come the tourist season, the A9 and other roads like the A85, 84 etc will become death traps...as usual. If you are touring Scotland, it's not the sheep, pheasants, or gleggs you need to be wary of. I had to "exit" the A9 just north of Aviemore in my company Capri 2lt S doing around 80-odd back in the early 80's into a ploughed field because of this sort of pea-brained lunacy. Capris are tougher than they look by the way..... It's worse than people think....near misses don't sell papers but death does. I'm not exaggerating...although these fatals/near misses oddly seem to come in spates....then nowt for a bit...then another " 3 in row" within a week. Born-again pot-bellied old bikers whose skills have long departed are another issue...although often as not they seem to manage to kill themselves. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-47851582
